The Wild Boars Hunting
The Wild boar hunting can be made mainly in different modalities depending on the preferences of the hunter and of the amount of participants in the event. We described next and of brief form, the basic characteristicses of each one of them:
Montería
The most classic modality of hunting of wild boars is the "montería" and requires of a considerable number of hunters. In a mount of several hundreds of hectares a series navies, or lines of positions with hunters is had, who surround and cover the land. According to their particular location in the spot the Navies receive diverse names (prudent is highest; sopi? lowest; crossbeam the one that crosses or is generally in the middle of the spot). From a determined end, or more than one, it is come to the release from rehalas that, lead by their respective perreros, will beat the spot in diverse directions with the last object of which wild boars in fled his try to cross the lines of hunters or is sighted by these. In spite of the appearance of action very planned montería it is a hunting modality that requires of the Maxima observation, attention, silence and aim (in movable target) on the part of the hunter and that offers immense possibilities of escape to the wild boars.
Batida
The "batida" for the hunting of the wild boar presents similarities with the montería although some differences define it as a different modality. The search can be made with or without dogs (unlike montería where the use of rehalas is essential) and the land or mount usually fights in a single direction and towards a single line or Navy of hunters. The dangerous land usually is smaller than in montería as well as the amount of hunters. Sometimes the dogs are replaced by people who shouting and making noise try to lead the pieces in flight towards the line of hunters. The hook even can be seen like a small search practiced by few hunters and with a little number of dogs or without them.
Espera or Aguardo
The "Espera or Aguardo" (delay or waiting) is, next to montería, the modality more practiced to hunt the wild boar, specially during the dusks and the nights of the months of summer. Verified the habits, the fixed steps, the food places or bath of the animals, the hunter will hope hidden to a prudencial distance always considering the direction and the sense of the wind. This modality requires of a great patience and silence on the part of the hunters and is basically nocturnal and solitary reason why the full moon-lits night are very propitious to practice it.
